Will Generate Strong Passwords!
I wrote a version of this program a few years ago for a number of reasons. I am sure I am not the only one who has trouble remembering Login Names let alone the password that goes with them, also where did that list or file go to that I had all this stuff on or in. Now because of all the password cracking programs out there you must have Strong Passwords which is cool if you have an amazing mind with a instant memory plus great typing skills. It is easy to get Strong Passwords online but you are foolish to believe that many of these sites are not recording the password you generated, your email address, and your IP address!!! Password lists are sold to crackers as are email lists. This is why I only use offline software and use software that I personally have written.
I use this program many times everyday and would be totally lost without it!
The program is written in the 'C' programming language which means it is a stand alone program and is lightening quick in it's Encryption and Decryption routines. The program is super easy to use and will let you know if you make a mistake which is really hard to do.
All you need to do is type in a Reference Name for what password is for, type in the Login Name, then type in the Password. After that click the 'Add/Change Password' button. This will Encrypt all the data you have entered and store it in a data base plus add the Reference Name to the list box.
To Display a pre-saved Password simply Click on the Reference Name in the List Box, then click the 'Show/Edit Password' button. The program will find and Decrypt the data block on the fly then place the Login Name and Password into the right field boxes. From there you can click the 'To Clipboard' to place either Login Name or Password in the clipboard where you can paste it to whatever login system you are using, such as a web site.
To create a Strong Password, such as displayed above, enter any character in the 'Password ' box. Keep entering enough characters for how ever long of a password you want, each character is part of a seed to Randomize a Strong Password. Once you have entered the characters click the 'Randomize Password' button. You can click the button more then once if you want to and you will never get the same Strong Password. You can add up to 254 characters if you want. There is not a PasswordBot that can crack this!
To change a Password just click on the Reference Name in the list box and then click the 'Show/Edit Password' button. Change your Password and then click the 'Add/Change Password' button.
Installation: Well, there is none, just download it to your hard drive and create a shortcut to it. The program you are downloading is a non-compressed .EXE file around 50k and ready to go. Your down-loader will more then likely warn you about the file being an executable program but your virus checker will clear it because it does not contain compressed data still your virus checker may yell at you the first time you run the Program. The program does not really care where you put it, it will even run well on a CD.
The Program has been tested on Windows XP and Windows 7. I don't have other versions of Windows available for testing but I have a hunch it should work on them all.
As I stated above, the software is Freeware which means you are welcome to have the Program for Free and more then welcome to pass it out to your friends.
To be honest, the reason I am providing this software is because I need to start a Cancer and Stroke Fund for my immediate Family. Just this past year we got hit by both strokes and cancer in the household, but we still make traps anyhow, grin.
